ESTZ failed to compete with [3H]17β-estradiol ([3H]17β-E2) for binding to the estrogen receptor α (ERα), questioning its ability to interact with the receptor. However, detection by atomic force spectroscopy (AFS) of an ESTZ-induced ERα dimerization has eliminated any remaining doubts. The effect of the compound on the proliferation of ERα-positive and negative breast cancer cells confirmed the requirement of the receptor. Corporate Governance Theories: From Micro Theories to National Systems Theories

The objective of this article is to conduct a survey of the different corporate governance theories. In the first part, we present the micro theories by opposing the disciplinary view to the knowledge-based view. The second part deals with the macro or national systems theories. We separate the theories based on appropriation of the organizational rent from those attributing a dominant role to production. This survey highlights that the financial view of corporate governance is a very particular case and presents many limits.

Magic informationally complete POVMs with permutations

Eigenstates of permutation gates are either stabilizer states (for gates in the Pauli group) or magic states, thus allowing universal quantum computation [M. Planat and Rukhsan-Ul-Haq, Preprint 1701.06443]. We show in this paper that a subset of such magic states, when acting on the generalized Pauli group, define (asymmetric) informationally complete POVMs. Such IC-POVMs, investigated in dimensions $2$ to $12$, exhibit simple finite geometries in their projector products and, for dimensions $4$ and $8$ and $9$, relate to two-qubit, three-qubit and two-qutrit contextuality.

Three levels of analysis were considered: a micro level, taking into account the identity aspect of each partner in terms of self- or hetero-ethnic identification; a meso level, examining the passion, commitment, and intimacy of the couple sphere of the partners; a macro level investigating the discrimination that partners can perceive by the community as an effect of the relationship between dominant and minority groups. Optical gain, spontaneous and stimulated emission of surface plasmon polaritons in confined plasmonic waveguide

International audience; We develop a theoretical model to compute the local density of states in a confined plasmonic waveguide. Based on this model, we derive a simple formula with a clear physical interpretation for the lifetime modification of emitters embedded in the waveguide. The gain distribution within the active medium is then computed following the formalism developed in a recent work [Phys. Rev. B 78, 161401 (2008)], by taking rigorously into account the pump irradiance and emitters lifetime modifications in the system. We finally apply this formalism to describe gain–assisted propagation in a dielectric–loaded surface plasmon polariton waveguide.
